The boring but very important bits..... so please read!

Each groom is by appointment only.
Prior to your pet’s appointment you will be asked a number of questions to help determine how long the appointment will need to be. This duration will be an approximate time and will depend on various factors (including the condition of the coat and the behaviour of the dog at the time).
Our guide prices are based on the time taken to groom a non-aggressive, well behaved dog that is groomed regularly with a coat that is in good condition. There will be an increase in fee for more challenging dogs regardless of how much of the groom is achieved.
Scruffbags reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that displays aggressive or persistently challenging behaviour.
You will be asked to complete a registration form; on which you will be required to give contact information and an honest description of the pet you are booking an appointment for.
Please ensure you arrive on time for your appointment (and collection), lateness may incur a fee (£5 per 15 minutes). Depending on circumstances and other appointments that day, arriving more than 15 minutes after your appointment time may result in your appointment being cancelled and a full charge being taken..
A 50% non refundable deposit will be required when booking the appointment, the appointment will not be secured and will remain open to others until payment is made.
If you are unable to keep your appointment please provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice which will prevent a short notice cancellation fee (full appointment charge). Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will result in your deposit being kept.
Please ensure that your dog has a chance to exercise and toilet before arriving at your appointment.
In the interest of salon hygiene and other visitors into the salon, please ensure you check your dog thoroughly and address any flea issues prior to their appointment. If fleas are present, the groom will be abandoned on detection and you will be asked to collect your dog immediately. There will be an extra charge (minimum of £10 on top off full cost of the groom) for the visit if fleas are found on your dog (this is due to the extra time and products needed to de-flea your pet and the grooming environment, preventing cross contamination to other dogs). Advice will be given on how to treat your pet, home and car to help prevent fleas reappearing.
If a dog’s coat is severely matted, we will only attempt to de-matt the coat for a maximum of 20 minutes in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Attempting to de-matt your dog's coat will always be our first port of call. However, this can sometimes be very uncomfortable for your pet. We believe in humanity before vanity! So, to limit the anxiety your dog experiences during the grooming procedure, we reserve the right to perform a complete clip off of the dog’s coat if the matting is severe enough to cause the dog discomfort and/or exceeds the 20 minute de-matting time allowance.
We will endeavour to notify you before performing a complete clip off of the dog’s coat. However, if we cannot contact you and we believe the clip off is necessary on welfare grounds, we will still undertake to clip off the coat. We can provide photographic/video evidence of the matted condition of the coat, should you wish.
Matting on your dog will incur additional charges for de-matting and/or clipping off the coat. These charges will vary depending on the time taken but can range from £5 - £35.
Scruffbags reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that we deem too severely matted to safely carry out a clip off of the coat. We will provide advice as to how you can help prevent the coat from becoming matted in future, keeping your dog happy and healthy.
Please make sure you provide as much information about your dog as possible, if you fail to disclose information about allergies/skin conditions, we will not be held responsible for any irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming process.
If you fail to disclose information regarding any physical and/or medical conditions (such as elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy etc) we will not be held responsible for any injury incurred during the grooming process.
If your dog requires urgent medical attention while in our care, Scruffbags reserve the right to seek veterinary attention and any fees incurred will be payable by the dog’s owner.
Scruffbags will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If during the grooming process your dog finds any part of the process too stressful, that part will not be completed. Puppy introductions, a first ever groom, and first time clients will be a minimum set fee of £20 for the first hour despite how much of the process we manage to achieve, this is due to the time taken to attempt each process despite amount of completion. Please play your part at home to make their visit a more enjoyable one!
Collection times for your dog will be agreed when you leave your dog with us. Please contact us if you are not able to collect your dog at the agreed time. Failure to collect your dog at the arranged time, or notify us that you will be late, may incur a holding fee.
All dogs must be collected by 5pm latest.
Your dog may be photographed and any photographs may be used on our website, possible third party sites, social media sites and any other promotional material to provide illustration of the work we carry out.
If you are unhappy in any way with the service we have provided we ask kindly that you contact us directly and promptly via telephone/email to resolve this issue.
Payment is required on collection of your dog.
Please be mindful if you arrive early to collect your dog, calling out or knocking the door may excite them making it difficult to complete the groom.
Treats may be given during the appointment. Please let me know if you do not wish for these to be given or if you want to provide your own.
Bringing your dog to their appointment will mean that you agree to all our terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the T&C's as these can change.

8.1 To notify you about any changes to our website, such as improvements or service/product changes, that may affect our service;

8.2 If you are an existing customer, we may contact you with information about goods and services similar to those that were the subject of a previous sale to you;

8.3 Where you have consented to receive such information, to provide information on other parties’ products or services that we feel may be of interest to you;

8.4 Where you have consented to receive our e-newsletters, from time to time to provide that to you.
